The West Dublin Saints ARFC was established in 2005 by a few 'Original' members who had played for the Dublin Demons, a few years previous. It was an amicable and honourable split, as the goal was/is to further develop Australian Football in Dublin, and therefore, Ireland.
The Saints put a strong focus on making the sport available to all. At the moment we have players from Finland, New Zealand, Australia, UK, The Netherlands and of course, Ireland.
The club home ground is at Chanel College in Coolock Village and most of our home games are played on the GAA pitches (or on nearby grounds). All are welcome to come and watch the Saints in action!
While developing the game of Australian Football, it is also very important to the Saints, to provide a good club atmosphere. The social calendar normally includes, weekends away (e.g. this could be Cork or Belfast), team nights out, team buidling events (paintball) and of course, our end of season 'Halo' awards.
The Saints, like any Club cannot grow and foster Australian Football if it were not for the 'Wags' (wives & girlfriends). A wag in the Saints circle is known as a 'Sinner' (Saints and Sinners). We'd like to thank them for their continued support of their men and the Club.
